Vote Hannah Sessions for Vermont Senate

Our future relies on good listeners; on curious and creative leaders who think outside the box and invite many perspectives into discussions. I am that person.

Hannah Sessions Senate Campaign

Farmer. Business Owner. Parent. Ready to work for you!

I’m Hannah Doton Sessions and I am running to be one of your two State Senators representing Addison County and the adjoining towns of Huntington, Buel’s Gore and Rochester.

I am running because my life experience has taught me not only to work hard but also to ask questions and listen, three skills that will help me represent you in Montpelier. I want to build pragmatic coalitions to help improve the lives of current and future Vermonters and Addison County residents. I believe that the government needs to work for the common good of all.

I love Vermont and Addison County. I was born and raised here by parents who exposed me to all that this incredible area has to offer. My family roots go back to a farm in Vermont in 1786 (before Vermont was a state). My great-grandfather, Edward Bliss Doton, served in the State Legislature in the 1940s, and my relatives still farm on that hillside near Pomfret. I’ve always known that Vermont is a special place.

I graduated from local schools and came back to Addison County after attending Bates College in Maine where I majored in Political Science and Studio Art. I am a farmer, a business owner, and a parent. For 25 years my husband and I have owned and operated a farm and cheese business. I know first-hand what it takes to start and run a business in this state. During that time I also served for decades on several local and state-wide boards, broadening my knowledge about government affairs and how state policies and funding affect the daily lives of Vermonters. Our two kids are now grown and looking to someday settle in Vermont.

Addison County is incredibly diverse and complex. We encompass farms of all sizes and accompanying infrastructure, working forests, lake communities, manufacturing, nature, recreation, incredible arts, a vibrant retirement community, the nation’s smallest city, and a world renowned college. We are such a special place because of all of us. I have been blessed to know and be inspired by many parts of our community throughout my life.

I humbly ask for your support~

Why Vote for Hannah?

PRINCIPLED

I will be principled in every consideration. This means never forgetting our state motto of Freedom and Unity, as well as my personal belief in the inherent worth and interdependence of all beings.

PREPARED

As your Senator I will always be prepared. I will do my work and show up to represent you to the very best of my ability. I will seek information and knowledge from those who may know more than I do, or have a different perspective, in order to see every side of an issue. Collective input is key.

PRAGMATIC

I will stay true to my pragmatic self, to hold our Government accountable for how tax dollars are spent. I will not hesitate to voice an opinion even if it is unpopular.
